Radio Ga Ga
Radio unit, amplifier & speakers were 7 pounds (all together) on the Spyder! If you wanted a radio (option # 695 - CDR-30) on your Spyder that was no/charge...but you had to order the 'Sound Package Plus', option # 490, which cost an additional $700. That was for the speakers & amplifier! Porsche...got to love the way they do their options!
1) CDR-30 Audio System (at no charge) - 'With optimized handling, 5-inch Display (monochrome) and MP3 audio play with 4 loudspeaker (?) and integrated amplifier (2 x 25 watts)'
2) Sound Package Plus ($700) -
Cayman R : 'Sound system with 9 loudspeakers and 235 watt output'.
Spyder: 'Sound Pkg with 7 speakers and 185 watts' Is this figure right?
