Question for those who "block out" their license plate in posts...
Your plate number is no secret, when you drive your car on the road everyone sees your plate number, so why is it necessary to block it out in posts on this forum? Maybe I'm missing something?

Yeah, you can see it on the street but can you follow it home or get the plate #? Now-a-days the less information about oneself that's out there on the world wide web the better. Secondly, let's say you're interested in stealing a Pcar having the plate # can get you the address where the owner lives and maybe you think all us Porsche owners have loads of cash in our houses....
Better safe than sorry.

I couldn't agree more. I've asked a couple people why they do it and they say they don't know why-- just 'cause they've seen others do it. But you'd think the plate number is safer on RL than it is in an airport parking lot or on the open road. Others are proud to show it off. And Carfax has unlimited views using the plate number. You'd think if someone is trying to sell a car, they'd show the plate. My $0.02.
