Default Looking for a sleek iPhone holder for my 981

I can't stand the lack of storage space that Porsche has designated for my Boxster. I saw a couple pictures of people with holders. If you could give me a brand and maybe post a photo of it in your Boxster or Cayman I'd be grateful.

This has worked flawlessly for me. I bought mine at the local Apple store for $25.
Attaches to any of the vents.

The hot air from the vent seems as though it could do damage to the phone if it is running on full heat. It looks great though. Is it easy to clip in your phone and remove it?

Longest I've had the heater running on a drive is about 45 minutes. Phone wasn't warm but it could be a problem over time?

It takes both hands to clip in and remove the phone. But it is very easy. The clamp is spring loaded and adjusts easily.

Consumer Reports, Feb issue, just tested "Affordable smart-phone mounts". They were not in favor of mounts that used dash vents. The negatives: the phone could restrict the climate system's airflow and vents could get damaged if you were careless in installing the clamp.

Check this one out: http://www.porschephonemount.com/

These are made by a Planet-9 board member and 981 owner. People seem pretty happy with them.

Check this one out too: http://www.niteize.com//collection/steelie.asp

I like this one because it is really low profile and can be mounted anywhere.

I don't know if you are ever dragged to TJ Maxx by your significant other, but every one I've had the displeasure of visiting has had tons of these things on sale for around $9. Just never needed one. At least that way, you can take it out of the box and try it out.

I would also be worried about running the A/C for too long. Do you think the cold air would cause condensation? I checked out the other cases and I would prefer not to cover up the sport chrono clock. Where else could you mount a phone and would a phone holder for the 987 also work in the 981?

Thanks for the input guys. and I'm happy to be a part of the site again.

+1 for Kenu, it works well in my GTI and my 993.

N2cars I decided to go with the Kenu after checking out other peoples ideas and reading some reviews from Apple and Amazon.. I am worried about the heat and A/C but I guess I'll have to take it one day at a time. I will put the Kenu on the "dyno" and run the heat on high and A/C on coldest setting to see what happens.

Thanks everyone that chimed in. A quick question, what does it mean when people write +1 or + another number? Is that some sort of good karma for informative answers?

+1 or an other number is when someone agrees with the other persons suggestion and not steel their idea.

FWIW, I've been using ProClip for a few years. Definitely the most secure and you can get a model that holds the charging cable. Not cheap though, and not universal.

Love the Kenu. When the phone is not in the holder it almost looks like it is part of the car. I am in Florida so the AC keeps the phone cool even when I am using a nav app.
