I purchased one of the first. I also purchased a power cord to go from the passenger side socket to the phone.
I BlueTooth music from my iPhone (now 6) in the background and
run WAZE in the foreground.

I just bought the one from t-design and it works like a champ. I have an iPhone six plus with an otter box case and it holds it perfectly. Waze and my iPhone tunes are super easy to access and read! Pricey but worth it...

Another vote for the Kenu. I'm in south Fl and A/C is usually running since its always humid and usually hot weather. My sunglasses fog instantly in the summer when going outside or exiting the car and similarly my iPhone gets a little moist on the outside but I'm not concerned about it causing damage. Makes the phone nice and cool for the next call, like a little ice pack

Don't know about the heater tho. I suppose that could be a bad thing if it was blowing on the phone for an extended time.

For those concerned about the effects of heat or A/C blasting your phone, remember that you can shut the vent you mount it on.
