Default 981 Cayman S - Wow!

Just got back from doing a test drive with a PDK, Sport Chrono Plus equipped Cayman S. Wow. I am massively impressed. My last Porsche was a 996 Carrera Aero. Loved it...and sold it to get my business going.

Well...this year is looking great and I may very well pull the trigger on one at the beginning of 2014. Very, very impressed with the handling, interior room, finish quality....wow.

My one gripe - WTF was Porsche thinking when they designed the base PDK shift buttons? Not comfortable, not intuitive, just plain wrong. The sport wheel with the paddles is absolutely the way to go.

Still buzzing (and grinning) from the drive.

C.

I got the paddle wheel on my 997.2 within a couple weeks of getting the car. The original steering wheel is a joke. ugly and counter-intuitive..

That's awesome to hear. Are you also going to try 991?

The new Cayman is awesome indeed. If you haven't done so try the manual version too before you decide. I have driven both and enjoyed the manual a bit more. However, if they offered the GT3's PDK-S I would probably get that!

I am about to buy the Cayman S , with a manual transmission, and about 20 options worth an extra $25,000. One option I am not sure if I should get is the Torque Vectoring System. I'm not sure exactly what it does, I don't understand the description on the porsche website, it's too technical. Did u test drive one with the torque vectoring, and if u did what did u think of it? Also, could u please explain it in simple words if u know what it does? Thanks!
