Default removed 2nd cats on 987.2 headers

I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd post back here since I found the thread helpful.

I just removed the 2nd cats in my 987.2 headers. Everything else is stock (except desnorkel), and the sound is definitely better. It's a bit louder now than I remember the 987.1 being. The change is undetectable by visual inspection or by diagnostic inspection since the 2nd O2 sensors are in front of the 2nd cats, and the whole procedure took about an hour. Very easy, but wear a mask when you destroy the cats.

Oh, and btw, the stock cats are both 400-cell cats. My original plan was to put a race cat in there until I found that they are already 400-cell. See here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...tem-explained/

What about making the top tube longer, so that it feeds past the baffle?

I can't wait to go to chapel hill this week with my headers and open up my race exhaust on my 911.... I hope all the liberals get pissed off up there. I'll buy you a coffee at Cafe Driade.

Following with interest. I have a mate who is an experienced welder who is anxious to perform some surgery to my exhaust. Just need to clarify exactly what needs to be done before I set him loose. Just want to increase the volume and enhance the flat 6 sound.

I have a pair of Fabspeed Hi-po Exhaust manifolds for sale. The converter " bricks" are loose but you can remove them for even better flow. New they cost $3,000

I will sell them for $1,300 + shipping.
