I know not what what you speak of.... Seems like something immature... that spyder behind it does look like it's riding pretty close...

Figures that was his "instructor"........ or, was that a joyride passenger? Maybe he couldn't bear the thought of obviating his failure in the face of spectators.

Hi Everyone,

I am putting up my 3.8 X51 Cayman S for sale. With a new baby I just don't have time to track anymore, the car is barely getting driven. It was a labor of love but its time to let someone else enjoy it.

2006 Cayman S bought new in May 2006
46K miles (new 3.8 x51 motor installed at 41k miles)
Factory options include:
- Full Leather
- Leather Rear Console
- Leather Door finishers
- Guards Red Seat Belts
- Bose Sound System
- Adaptive Sport Seats, heated, crests (removed for 996 gt3 seats)
- Thicker Leather Sports Steering Wheel
- Bixenon Headlights
- TPMS
- Sport Chrono
- PASM (removed for JRZ RS Pro, still have stock PASM, removed at 36K miles)
- Rear Parking Sensors
- 5mm spacers
- Illuminated Stainless Steel Door Entry Guards
- Self Dimming Mirrors, Rain Sensor

Modifications:
- 3.8 X51 motor installed 12/2010 at 41K miles (done by Napleton Porsche)
- Softronic 3.8 X51 conversion flash

- BBI Underdrive pulley 12/2010 (Napleton Porsche)
- TPC Racing X51 clutch/lightweight flywheel 6/2012 (done by Willow Automotive)
- Car alignment updated with latest recommended settings from TPC Racing 6/2012 (Willow Automotive)
- PCCB Master Cylinder with Castrol SRF 12/2010 (Napleton Porsche)
- Napleton Interseries Rear Wing with Top/Side blades in CF 4/2011 (Napleton Porsche)
- JRZ RS Pro with Remote Reservoir Canisters located in F/R trunks with 600F 700 R springs installed 6/2010 (done by napleton Porsche)

- 996 GT3 seats 6/2010 (Napleton Porsche)
- Schroth 6 pts harnesses Driver/passenger 6/2010 (Napleton Porsche)
- TC Design 1/2 roll cage 6/2010 (Napleton Porsche)
- Quaife Torque Biasing Differential 2008 (Willow automotive)
- Capristo Full Valved Exhaust 2008 (Willow autmotive)
- Girodisc F/R Rotors with stock pads/pagid orange
- Gt3 Front Brake Ducts
- LN Engineering Inline Power Steering Cooler 2009 (Willow Automotive)
- Motorlux CF side skirts/rear diffuser 2010
- Das Schild

Lots and lots of $$$ and labor have been put into this car. The motor is very strong, coupled with the TPC clutch/LWFW, softronic tune, capristo exhaust, and underdrive pulley its a blast. Car handles well and ride is not rough on smooth roads. Springs can easily be changed out for softer ones and then stiffness can be adjusted with settings on JRZ remote reservoirs.
All books, keys, receipts included.

Asking $55K with everything, New motor only has 1 track day on it. No time to enjoy this thing, Thanks everyone.

Ah, sorry guys. That car's been sold. It was on the block for a long time but finally sold a month or two ago IIRC.

Someone on P-9 has that car now.

not all of that is quite right :-) and PDK is gay :-p

You're right, but the interseries cars are street legal.
This path would save him a lot of time and money too.
When you consider the path he seems to be heading for, the interseries car is a good match for his goals, at least as I interpret them.
If, on the other hand, he is more interested in learning the build process, versus just taking the car out to the track and thrashing it, then perhaps a ready made car is not the best choice.

Joe, I sure do remember TC Kline and his Spyder! By the way, he opened a shop in Santa Barbara a few years ago! His original shop was/is in Ohio.

T.C. was terrific on that Spyder! I saw him twice at Laguna Seca! Very quick...and he is no youngster! He was a pretty good BMW racer too!

Regarding the OP's question 'Cayman R vs Spyder', I think most of you know I am a 'Spyder' man at heart! I seem to go from one to another...

And, God willing, I might someday do an Italian 'Spider' from Maranello too!
