Lol. Thanks. Will let you know how it goes. Ben has 3 days on the rotors and so far so good. At the current observed wear rate, it looks like they will at least last as long as the brembo if not longer.

I have to say I really like the use of a PCCB disk as a wall clock. I am going to get that done to mine. Will make a great shed clock.
I have included a couple of photos of my PCCB after 22000klm mostly street and 3000klm of spirited mountain pass. Now using Surface Tranforms and so far so good. It seems that any time the rotors are over 400C they are oxidizing and loosing surface friction material.

My understanding is that even though the wear bars start to show very early on with the PCCB, that does not really mean they are almost done. I know someone with a GT3 and PCCB and he has been tracking for a few years with those wear bars showing, still on the same rotors. Can anyone confirm either delamination or the sandpaper surface that develops when they are truly kaput?

I had an 04 GT3 that made it 55k miles on one one set of rotors and that had countless auto-x's and probably 20+ track days on them. I thought they were finally nearing the end of their life when I traded in the car but even then, I am not certain. Back then, they didn't put the the wear marks on the rotors so people didn't get so paranoid.

My buddy's rotor off his 997.2 TTS after 6 track days. Delaminating and rough undersurface showing:

@orthojoe How come you didn't use the Pagid RSC1 pad for taking it out on track?

These were relatively new at the time, so nobody had any experience with them. Technically not approved by Porsche for use, but that is a weak reason. Also wasn't sure if they made pads in the size/shape I needed.

I still don't know if anyone has any good experience with them. I have my doubts that running RSC1 will somehow get the rotors to last a significant amount longer.

RSC1 bridges the gap perfectly between the stock stuff and the full tilt boogie P50s (track only)

We have RSC1s and steel rotor sets ready to ship, Thank You

I wouldn't run a steel rotor with a street pad. I'm unclear on why you would be so careless with $10k rotors. Really, I just want to see a track enthusiast use a proper race pad and stop trashing CCB as a poor choice for track until we know what an RSC2 pad would do.

PCCB work very well on track. They just don't last any longer than iron. They are being trashed for longevity and cost.
Why don't you try out the rsc2 on your PCCB and report back how long it takes before they wear out?

Update: the cayenne rotors DO NOT fit. They look the same, but the offset is slightly off and don't fit the calipers properly.

Ortho,

Have you looked into Racingbrake rotors? I had them on my Z06, and Mikymu has them on both his Z06 and Civic with good results. I can get about 15 days out of the fronts and 20 to 25 out of the rears.

I haven't. Will look into it to see if they make them in my size. Thanks!

Interesting because I've seen people do it but not in 987. Is there a way to install a spacer or something like that?
