981 Sport Suspension Feedback
Anyone out there take delivery of a 981 with the Sport Suspension option? We are close to placing our order and I was hoping to get feedback on the ride feel and quality compared to the stock suspension and PASM. I have owned a couple of 997's with PASM and a 987 with the stock suspension, so I have some idea of the ride quality. My fear is that the Sport Suspension option is too harsh. The car will be a weekend/PCA drive car only. Thanks!

There have been a few people over at Planet9 who have taken delivery, as well as being reviewed by an auto magazine. They all seem to agree that it is about as stiff as PASM in sport mode and it improves the car's ability to turn in. They don't recommend it if you drive on a lot of broken roads or if the car is a daily driver. I think PASM is the better option if you want a forgiving ride on a daily basis but every once in a while, you want to stiffen it up for auto crossing or other aggressive driving.

I have a 981 with PASM and a 997.2 with PASM. The difference in ride with PASM on is much more subtle on the 981. In the 997 the PASM can be harsch and unpleasant on a rough freeway. On the 981, I find that I frequently have to look at the light to see if PASM is on. I have never have found harshness to be an issue in the 981. I would not be uncomfortable driving with PASM on all day long in the 981. There is no way I could do that in the 997
My only concern is that the sport suspension lowers the car an additional centimeter from the PASM equipped cars. I find the front of the 981 is more sensitive to scraping on steep driveways and inclines than the 997. So lowering the car more may cause this to be more of an issue.

Thanks for the feedback to all. After reading the EVO review and looking at some of the pictures of the cars with the option I decided to go with PASM instead. This car will never see the track and be used mostly for our long weekend drives with our PCA region.
