Anyone know the best or easiest way to get the tire marks off of the clear bra and paint? My CW Spyder has already built up quite a bit of black marks from the bits of tire (clag) thrown around at the track. I have a bottle of Goo Gone but have been hesitant to use it... though I may try it on the fender where the clear bra is set to be replaced soon.

mine is an Xpel bra, and the manufacturer also makes a cleaner "specifically for" the Xpel clear bra. It's pretty effective. Maybe the manufacturer of yours does the same?

Goo gone works. try a small inconspicuous area first to enure that there is no damage to the finish of the paint protection film. Many swear by Premier Protective Films - PF1 TTR. You would clean the area with a good concentrated soap like Griot's car wash, then spray PF1 onto a soft micro fibre towel, wait for a few seconds and wipe off.

I have had great results with TTR (tar, tire, rubber remover) from Premier Formula One Products. Made to use on the clear bra and safe for paint. Simple as spray on, wipe off. It's awesome!!

These are the products I use on my clear bra and paint. Mothers R3 works extremely well. Like RayDBonz's suggested product, spray on and wipe off with little to no effort. It does not harm paint or the clear bra but may work too well as it seems to strip any wax protection you may have on the car. The FW1 requires a little more effort but leaves a wax finish. I was very skeptical about the FW1 until I saw a fellow track participant using it on his car.

LOL. Ben, I use that FW1 stuff too. My wife bought it for me for Christmas last year after some guy at a gas station sold her on it. For really big marks, I use goo gone while I'm washing the car and rinse off with water quickly after. The FW1 works, but yes, it takes a bit more effort than the goo gone.

Too funny. I used to get annoyed by those guys at the gas station and would ignore them until Guy Gamboa showed me how well it works on the tire marks.

WD-40 works good. GooGone can damage both if left on too long.

Thank you for all the help, guys. Just ordered Mothers R3. I also have Plexus that's supposed to work - it never occurred to me to use it for this purpose. I looked into TTR but at $30-35/16 oz. , it's a bit rich for me.

Wait... so now I'll have R3, Plexus, and Goo Gone... oh well, maybe I'll report back with a comparo.

u guys must have different film or different tire marks.
goo gone does not work on my cars/films.
you have to rub like there's no tomrrow
TTR works 50% of the time.
miracle wash 50% of the time
i 'll try WD40 next.

I'm giving Joe a bottle of the Mothers R3 on Sat. Let's try it on your car while we're all there. I would be very surprised if it did not work easily on your car. Maybe you're going too fast and hitting the rubber pieces at a higher velocity than the rest of us. Slow down so we can keep up.
