Default Report from ISUK in UK...

is ceasing production for several months and the reason I was given was that the entire
petrol engine range is going through an emissions re-certification process. Just to add
further mystery I was advised that PTS may be withdrawn as an option as it is causing
too many production delay issues. This seems strange after your informative posts above
showing how relatively easy it is for the new paint shop to accommodate PTS.
Thank you ISUK. Very interesting information you are providing us from the UK.
In case folks don't know/remember ISUK in this forum, this gentleman is a known
collector in Britain of German & Italian sport cars with a particular taste for PTS!

In addition, he figured out how the Targa top on the 991 was going to mechanically
work before PAG announced its particulars!

So when ISUK posts, I listen! He is well connected!

Default More personnel changes at 'Exclusive Manufaktur' in Atlanta

More unsettling news about PCNA & 'Exclusive Manufaktur' in the US.
I have been informed that Jon Brunot, who recently was named as the
replacement for Melissa Witek at 'Exclusive Manufaktur' at PCNA-Atlanta
is no longer with Porsche. I was also told late last summer that the manager
in charge of 'Exclusive Manufaktur' in Atlanta, Barbara Boeckenhoff, was
going to be replaced as part of normal rotation of jobs at Porsche. If anyone
knows if that has already taken place, please let us know...or pm/email me
if you have information on the personnel matter at 'Exclusive Manufaktur'
for the US.

Besides the two reps in the Los Angeles area, Philip Mauney & Florian Truffner,
'Exclusive Manufaktur' is still represented by Yana Nikolayeva & Michael Tam
(if he is still there?) in Atlanta! That is to my knowledge.

Default Scottsdale Auction Week Report

Went to Gooding this morning for special breakfast with David Gooding sponsored by Chubb.
Later attended the Keith Martin (Sportcar Market Letter) panel discussion on the state of the
collector market:

Our own C.J. 'Ichiban' was seating in just in front of me...so our forum was
well represented there!

https://www.sportscarmarket.com/about/keith-martin

***
Interestingly one of the cars there at Gooding for auction tomorrow is a
1985/1986 Porsche 944 Turbo Cup Car that I crewed for (mostly fueling)
in the SCCA Showroon Stock series - 1986 Escort Endurance Championship!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_S...e_Championship

I knew well Jerry Nelson, one of the drivers & dealer principal at Schneider & Nelson
Porsche in NJ. We took this car everywhere - Sears Point, Mid-Ohio, Mosport, Nelson
Ledges, etc. You know you are getting old when they are auctioning off a car you (in
your mid-thirties then) actively participated in its racing history when it was brand new!

https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/19...4-turbo-cup-2/

***
Missed the auction for a 1977 VW Cabriolet that I was trying to buy at Barrett-Jackson today (Thursday).

http://msclassiccarsllc.com/VehicleDetails.aspx?vid=505

The seller's staff at the event gave me wrong auction time info on the lot. Really dissappointed!
Sold for $23.5K plus commission. Not a bad price for the condition. I would have bought it had
I been there.

***
Back to Gooding tomorrow. Tom Scott's Pre-A 356 Cabriolet for sale there. Too expensive for
me...but just beautiful!

But notice its color...'Fashion Grey', an original Pre-A color you can still order PTS today!

Default 'Lizard Green'...

Some of you might have noticed a new 'Special Color' introduced
on the newly announced .2 991 gt3 RS. It's only an additional
$4,220. And you don't have to deal with the 'drama' & 'suspense'
surrounding PTS, when/if they offer that. It looks to me to be a
solid/uni color but we will need to confirm that.

If history is a guide, 'Lizard Green' will be included as an approved PTS color in
a few years at PAG. But for the present, it's an 'exclusive' to the .2 991 gt3 RS!
Undoubtedly PAG has seen the increased interest in the PTS 'greens' that are
being ordered in record numbers for the .2 991 gt3. These not only include 'Signal
Green' & 'Viper', perennial favorites, but also the more 'yellow-green' vintage/historic
hues which include 'GelbgrŘn/Lime Green'. 'Chartreuse/LindgrŘn', 'Birch/LichtgrŘn',
'Willow' & 'Olive'. 'Lava Orange' & 'Miami Blue' are now in the general Porsche
models color offerings. Clearly PAG is trying to give us their customers some bright
colors that normally would only be available to us via PTS. Yet, as 'special' colors
available on demand, they don't carry the cost & drama now associated with PTS.

'Lizard Green' is a welcome addition to Porsche's color palette. I predict will prove
to be a memorable & highly popular color. And it will take it's place of honor in the
pantheon of historic colors that will be talked about in future years. So just as the
RS model recently gave us the beautiful 'RS Orange' (.1 997) & 'Ultraviolet' (.1 991),
this new 'Lizard Green' will be one for the ages!

Wish they'd do so for Boxster and Cayman. Seems like the color choices have been reduced.

Mamba Green is now offered on the Panamera models

Truth.

I've been trying to order a 718 GTS in Irish green for almost 6 months now. After having the color quickly accepted, any indication of build keeps getting pushed out. Was first June, then July, then September. And now PTS is simply missing for the 718s in the configurator. Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm kinda depressed about this one...
