Cool 1st Post. 2011 Boxster S Has Landed

Just took delivery of platinum silver/beige 987 S and am a newbie to this forum.

6 Speed (my wife will not drive an automatic or PDK)
18" Cayman S II wheels

Convenience Package:
Bi-Xenon headlights
Windstop
Auto A/C
Headrest crests
Self dimming mirrors

Infortainment Package:
Navi/PCM
Bose
XM radio

Sports Exhaust
Multifunction Steering Wheel
Power seats heated and ventillated
Beige color seat belts
Park assist

this is our second Boxster S. Had a 2004 Orient Red Metallic/Beige which was rear-ended at a stoplight and totaled. I have also owned a 944.

Currently, I also have an F360 F1 Spider Red/Black and two turbo Subarus; an Outback and a Forester.

Hope to learn much and make a positive contribution to Rennlist.

We only have 600 miles on the new S and can't wait to get past the 2000 mi break-in period and have some real fun.

Life is good.

Very nice Phil, congrats!

I wouldn't have thought of picking that color combo but it looks really nice.

Another Ferrari owner who also own Boxsters, maybe a trend?

WOW! I agree with Marine. That's a combo I would not have thought would look good, but it looks quite nice! Congrats!!!

We saw a Bentley with this combination in town and loved it.

Plus, the beige interior is warmer than black or gray.

The salesman (Adolf Zoch from Germany. Really!) was skeptical (see picture) but loved it when he saw it.

Life is good.

I ordered a stone gray top but it came in black. Have to admit it looks better from the inside...the black goes with all the black trim features. the Germans don't miss much.

Life goes on indeed. The new S has much more toys. the cost was only $7k more in 7 years. Well worth it I would say.

Nice 328 GTS. A classic.

I used to have a 355 GTS. Loved it.

The new S has 42 bhp and more torque.

The transmission seems smoother...like butter. But Ruby had over 30k miles on her. she did great at the track and managed to pass many 911 wanabees. My wife and I loved that car. Really.

Why 18" wheels you may ask.

Hopefully protection from Chuckholes.

Let me just say the 987 S is the best sportscar for the money on the planet. Corners like a beast with all the toys of much much expensive sports cars. the road feel and responsiveness is just amazing. And it has enough storage for the wife and I to take long trips. Kudos Porsche.

Fun to drive and lots of toys. I remember my BMW 750iL had ~300 bhp. This car is much more fun to drive and to own.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the kind words about the 328. She is pretty. I've never been in a 360 but I'm familiar with the F355 and the F430 and they are both a blast. I'm sure your 360 puts a smile on your face every time you drive it.

With P car and an F car to choose from you have the best of both worlds! Congrat again on the new 987S. That color combo works really well even if your sales person wasn't so sure about it. I'm sure you will really be smiling once you are past the 2000 mile break in point!
Best regards,
Dino

360 F1 Spider had Tubi (sounds great), black Daytona seats with matching red stitching, SF shields, modular wheels, challenge grill.

In 2006 the 360 won Aspen's "Best Babe Magnet Award" sitting next to the gray CGT which won the "Most Luxurious Award". This was the last year of the Exotic Car Expo so still reigning champ. LOL

Hi Phil,

Thats a beauty! I love the Daytona style seats, its one of my favorite options on modern Ferraris.

Mine is red, with a crema and red interior. As far as I know its the only 328 with this two tone interior from the factory. Mine one its class, best 328 at the local New England Ferrari Show the last 4 years, but unfortunately it hasn't won "Best Babe Magnet. Thats an award I'll have to work on..although much to my Wife's amusement it did get 2 teenage girls to gawk and blow kisses at me as I was backing it into the driveway.

Here are a few pix of my Fcar.

P.S. nice option list on your Boxster...I love the auto dimming mirrors , sport exhaust, headrest crest and xenons. Great car enjoy it.
Best regards,
Dino
