I bought my first 911 in 1970, and I have owned several 911 iterations over the decades. I presently own an '07 Boxster and it is without doubt the best handling Porsche that I have ever owned. The only Boxster drawback, if you want to call it a drawback, is that Boxsters are so dam easy to drive hard. Almost anyone can drive it to 9/10ths without much drama. The 993 by comparison gets very twichy near the limits, and I have on more than one occassion did inadvertent 180s. So there are many, me included, that took a great deal of pride in mastering the technique of driving a 993 neat its limits.
