B&M Short Shifter / EVO Shift Link - replace both?
I want to add a B&M Short Shifter to my '06 Boxster (2.7; 7k miles). Is there a general concensus on whether or not to also change to the EVO shift link while I'm at it?
Thanks
Thanks

Should I replace the linkage at the same time?
I have already decided that I am going to use the B&M short shifter. I will do that installation myself. My question is, is there a general concensus that while you're changing the shifter would you go ahead and replace the stock linkage with the EVO shift link? Or is it just a waste? I have seen and heard various opinions on the durablility of the stock linkage.

That was a perfect install of the Evo shift link and the B&M short shift on Taian's Boxster. I even used the alignment tool and did it the Porsche way. 2 1/2 years ago.
Behind the scene pictures of Aileen removing Taian's shift tower and Taian himself getting ready to chop out the OEM cup bushings.

I assume the B&M would be the best one.

Yes, assumption is good. However, most dealers are going to try to sell you the Porsche branded shifter (made by B&M!) for $800 instead of the sale price we have it for now ($199).
As for the EVO Shift Link (which we also carry and use), it's peace of mind for me. I put it on my new C4S Cab within 60 days of delivery when the shifter went in ('04). No troubles. But again, if you are confident in the plastic housing of the stock shift link, leave it as is. The shift link alone is not going to change the shift effort or throw.
But yes, the B&M is the unit of choice for a large percentage of Porsche owners.
