Default Problems with convertible top?

On Tuesday, I took delivery of a 2006 Boxster S.

When I test drove it, the salesman explained there was some minor problem with the top and that it would be serviced. I had driven another Boxster S a couple days before with the same issue -- the top would not go down.

A few days after the top was supposedly fixed on my car, I once again can't get the top to operate. It's infuriating because I got my clear bra installed yesterday and today is nice outside... Was really looking forward to dropping the top and tearing up some canyon roads.

Has anybody else had this problem? I realize I need to take it in for service but I'm worried based on the only two Boxsters I have driven.

What's the symptom... no power? Good luck, I hope it's resolved quickly.

Yes, nothing happens once I press the switch after unlatching the manual handle.

I've tried everything: hand brake on, hand brake off, foot on brake, cluth depressed, ignition on, engine on, etc., etc.

Exact same problem it (and the other car) had before.

I know you can put the top up manually by following the instructions in the owner's manual but I don't think it will go down without the power switch.

You don't need the clutch, hand brake or foot brake engaged to operate. It will operate at up to 30 mph. What does the dash read?
