Default My 1st 987S mod!

Well, other than the clear corners. This is a tough job, I was sweating it out pulling off the original vents, afraid of busting them! It will take a couple days for me to decide if I like the new look. I planned on changing wheels for Black or Chrome, so the Silver vents seemed out of place!

Nice! The original boxster went from black vent to body color several model years later. I see this as a trend for the future 987.

I sort of like my silver on midnight blue combo ... it might look better if it were completely closed/smooth like a 997. The body color fins look OK, but probably because 1) yellow is not my cup of tea, and 2) I'm so used to the silver ones I rather enjoy them.

What exactly are the steps/process for getting them out? I have been wanting to try but have only found a few incomplete posts over on the RennTech forums. Looks great BTW.

Also, where in (IN) are you located?

South Bend.
Simply remove the originals with a twisting, prying motion, and pop them off. The new ones snap right into place. Try this link:

It literally felt like I was going to break them when I last tried, so I've stopped trying I wanted to try out the "de-snorkle" modification if only to hear a louder growl.

You just have to stay with it, firmly pulling upward and outward. I used an interior tool with a small hook to help "unclip" the tab in the last bottom fin. Not for the weak of stomach, I must admit!
