Hello,

I am interested in buying a used 987. When will be the right time to do that?

Buy now or wait for some month? How much I can save by waiting another 3-4 month, what do you think?

Winter is always a good time to buy convertibles. You should be able to save 2-4% more.

Best times to buy would be when the market has the higher number for sale. Old law of supply and demand thing. Though 2005's are the first MY 987, they came out in early 2005 rather than late 2004, so not too many used ones for 2006, unless it's repo or problematic. 2 year leases come back by 2007, but most leases are 3 years. So, the market will have the most for sale in 2008.

For purchasing in the near future, I don't believe you'll see anything much this winter. The cars are still new, and probably most will be garaged, and most owners are still enjoying them. If you insist on buying this year, I'd wait until the 2007 models are out, sometime late summer or early fall. You might even get a great deal on a new 2006.

Palting's right there may not be much supply for a while, still a lot of people flip Porsches after just a year and there are fewer buyers in winter.
