Roof Problems
First time I've posted on Rennlist but I've read up for a while!
Had numerous problems with my first 987 which led to it being replaced under warranty, the second car has been fine except for the 2100 rattle (fixed now) and roof problems.
The roof mechanism clicks and rattles pretty badly, particuarly around the drivers head and passengers head area towards the area above and beside the roll-bar but in the roof itself.
Also the velcro inside the roof that holds the cloth to the rails keeps popping off. As does the rear plastic bar below the roof cover that attaches the roof to the rear bulkhead.
The dealer just can't seem to fix it at all. Any ideas?
Also the seat bolsters are very worn after 1700 miles - is this a problem for others?
Thanks

WOW! At 1700 miles. And on the second car, too. Sorry, can't say I've had ANY roof problems or seat problems, at 6000 miles. Not at expert, but it sounds like your roof is either misaligned or deformed in some way.

Seat bolster wear is a function of how you get in your car! I have sport seats, so it's tough, but you can get in without dragging on the front of the bolster.
Sorry you're having issues...so far my car has been good (but it's only 4 months and 1400 miles old)
Interestingly, on the 997 the stitching on the (non-sport) seat is off to the side of the bolster, as opposed to smack in the middle of the bolster (as viewed from head on) where they'll get a lot of wear as they are on my 987 sport seats.
Is that true, or is this merely the difference between sport seats and regular seats in both models?
