Default Why no 987s at Dealers

What are you guys seeing. My local dealer (an average size Porsche dealer) has one 987. They haven't had much for a year. Are 987s selling like crazy; has Porsche reduced the production rate?

The Cayman is taking priority at the moment.

I think it is somewhat dependant on where you live. Here in the Bay Area there are numerous Porsche dealers. Around here there are always a few on the lot. But as one who recently finished the long, 5 month, wait for an order I'd advise to consider just doing an order.

The idea that Cayman is taking priority and impacting Boxster builds makes a lot of sense. Does anyone know if thats the case (eg, are they built at the same place?).

Overall production numbers for the 9x7 and Cayman combined are expected to be the same as current 987 production numbers with respect to total plant production; the mix will be more Cayman than Boxster.

Yes, they are built at the same location, in Finland, by the PAG supplier/contract manufacturer.

They had well over a dozen to choose from at Braman Porsche in West Palm where I got mine. I think now they have even more.
