Default Deviated Stitching in '05 Boxster?

I am trying to order a 2005 Boxster S in Speed Yellow with a black interior and deviated (Yellow) stitching. I had this option before on a 2001 and now I am being told it can't be done on a 2005. Does anyone know if this is really true? I thought Porsche would do almost anything.

Perhaps it's not on the (std) factory options list and needs to be ordered thru the Exclusive programme.
Your dealer should be able to find out rather quickly.

i happen to sell Porsches (the Autogallery in woodland hills ca), the stitching is cream/white colored. So if you are ordering a dark colored interior it will appear as similar to the deviated stitching of the 986.

Porsche will make it any way you want it. That is a fact.

Default not yet...

Hi all,
thanks for your help...

both Porsche's customer service in Atlanta and my dealer say they can't/don't offer deviated stitching any longer. How do I know if this is a fact or just wrong information?

Thanks
Chuck

Wow, that's news to me.

I've seen pics of new GT3's and 996TT's with deviating stitching (my 01 996TT has deviating stitching and deviating carpets).

Were they referring to the Boxster specifically or all P cars in general?

My dealer just got off the phone with the guy who coordinates it all...the "official" word is that the factory has stopped doing it on all vehicles EXCEPT the 996TT..argh

Thanks all..

Well that is disappointing news. I guess the Exclusive department is no longer that exclusive.

I find it hard to believe, but the "new" Porsche always finds a way to surprise me.

I've heard that deviated stitching will be opened up for other cars in 2006, once all the new models come online. This is just rumor, though.
