Boxster Coupe pics!!
I'm still somewhat undecided about the rear, but I'll reserve my judgement until I see it in the metal (or get better pictures).

Me thinks this one definitely deserves some attention from me and my driving shoes when it's available. Maybe I can justify picking one up and keeping the 550ed by saying the 550 is a collector item, and this one will be too since it's the first Boxster coupe. Plus it'd be better for the rain/snow than the drop-dop 986.
Overall I like it. The section above the rear spoileris a little plain though. Too much flat sheet-metal with no curves or vents to spice it up. I like the styling otherwise. Looks really good with the Carrera (996) wheels!

Calling the dealer in the morning!
Whats the story on the rear is it a hatch or not? Id be very disapointed if it wasnt. Good thing they fixed side profile of the C pillar Before it looked Rx-8 esque. But I dont know.... how are you supposed to get to the engine, what is PCNA going to loan you a lift everytime you need it?
I sure hope its not a double opening rear, with a separate glass hatch, and trunk lid. like the 996 targa, which was cool yet stupid at the same time, having to reach over would be a pain
But Im VERY interested to see the rear interior.
what else did the article say?

The glass and that rear piece of sheetmetal are not on the same line, which is interesting. Seperate rear cpt ala the Boxster roadster? The glass lifts seperately and then the carpeting below lifts up to reveal the engine cpt? That's my best guess by looking at the picture.

DARN, after studying the pic abit more, I doubt that JUST the glass will open, it would almost be pointless, look how far youd have to reach over and it wouldnt be that big of an opening, you might as well just move the seat forward. If they dont make the glass open WITH the metal i doubt they will make it open separately. They need to make it like the Beetles rear hatch.
Is it just me, or does the front bumper look more aggressive than the coupe? and the section between the door and rear wheel look better too?
Are those Georgia plates on it??? Quick someone in georgia go hunt this thing down!!!.
Anyone ever notice how all porsche Prototypes have Euro plates with S*GO on them??? Always makes me think of the S-car-Go joke.

Speculation on other forums is that these are not real pics, still photoshops. For instance the red one has 7 slats on the side vent, the black one has 9. Who knows...
Is it going to have a back seat?

I think they look a little touched up...but it could be the quality of photos/scans.
I'm with you Mike, they should have a rear hatch like the Beetle. Just seems more practical..and easier to engineer?
PNCA is based in Atlanta, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is a Georgia car. Hopefully that means we'll be seeing "official photos" soon!
