K people, remember to make a random GT3 reference every once in a while so we don't get deported again.
Also the occasional sarcastic reference to overheating so we can all feel better about our Porsche brand tribalism.
I bet the C8 is faster than the GT3 on track for one lap lmao hahahaha kind of thing.
You're welcome.

Race Car
Read that the trans took almost as much work than the entire car itself to work out.
Dying to drive it. I've driven the **** out or a 2019 ZR1 and while it still has the old trans, it still feels like a mushy soft sloppy Chevy.
That p!sses me off to say because I'm a GM fan over Ford products but Maybe it's finally time this C8 will feel taut, tight and engineered like a Porsche.
We will see.... we will see.

I just saw one in the dealership in blue. It's not too different from the pics in person. NSX, Ferrari Modena, Camaro blended into one. Three different seat options and look pretty supportive. There were a ton of new C7's on the lot and discounted heavily from $7500 to $20000, off for a $167,000 ZR1... I had no idea these cars were so expensive!!
Wow.
No pics?

The prices for all their sports cars is quickly moving to obscene levels, along with their maintenance prices. I have a friend who just had the one year service performed on his 911. He was charged $500 for what is essentially an oil change, but to be fair they did provide him with a beverage and a snack.
I was changing my oil a couple weeks ago and my neighbor with a 991.2 walked over and asked if changing oil is hard on these cars. "Nope, everything's accessible from underneath without removing any panels."
"Then why are they charging $500?!"
Because people are willing to pay it? :confused.

I wonder if GM will offer PTS for only $9,000. Maybe get the GT3 PTS down a bit. However, PAG would probably just increase PTS to make us feel more special 🤣🤣

That table is totally inaccurate for example my 720s is 3170lbs fully loaded with fuel (as measured on track weighbridge) - so nearly 500lbs less than the reported curb weight of the C8. 500lbs is a lot of pork.

as a non vette, non Porsche guy I will say this has put out the fire I had for the Cayman for me..... Cayman sales will not spike they will likely dip pretty deep due to this $60K Ferrari killer. Why would I buy a used a 2016 Cayman S with 170 less HP then a 2020 base C8 for roughly the same price?
i still love the 981 Cayman and still hope to have one someday, but this C8 is on another level from looks to HP and will have plenty of people like me who aren't brand loyalists or badge snobs likely leaning towards this.....I was never much of a Vette guy, until I saw the C8 and its numbers.(HP, tq, 0-60, price)
its an unbeatable package.....
already have a few builds ....this might be the one

‘True. Corvette always has been a lot of car for the money, and the C8 represents a new direction that has great possibilities for encroachment into traditional European niches.

It is a track day turd. In several aspects actually. Gears 5, 6, 7, and 8 are all overdrive gears. It's got the worst 650hp/650tq out there. It's closer to 500/500.
American automakers, and GM are fantastic at producing empty numbers and empty stats. It's prevalent in all their cars and trucks. They know how to market to unsuspecting customers. Especially ones overflowing with testosterone.

I mean this IS a Porsche forum. Fair-nuff - but please, don't let your bias cause outright ignorance.

Your neighbor got ripped off! With my $1,200 water pump the dealer offered me a snack and gave me a complimentary $25 or $29 (depending where on the receipt you looked) car wash. The fact that pulley on the water pump snapped at 40,000 miles (great build quality) about eight miles after I pulled the car out of the garage having been washed is irrelevant. I got a complimentary as in free, no charge, gratis car wash that didn't cost me a penny!
