Default 981 PPI Results

2014 Boxster Base - 1 owner - 66k - Clean CarFax, no accidents. Alll scheduled maintenance done on time at the dealer. Price seems to reflect the miles. Got a PPI done yesterday and a few items to note:

DME DTC CODE Present P1672 engine compartment purge fan electrical fault

AIRBAG DTC STATUS Present Passenger's airbag indicator light, CAN wrong feedback

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC STATUS Present Warning: Doors/front lid open when driving

PARKING BRAKE DTC STATUS Present Drive away release, not available

FRONT END ELECTRONICS DTC STATUS Present Key not synchronized

The driver's side fender is out of alignment and rubbing the driver's door.
The driver's door weatherstrip is worn through.
The horn button sticks and the horn does not work - (Note: a $1500 part per the dealer).

I'd noticed in some pictures earlier that the side marker lights had been changed from clear to amber sometime in the vehicle's life. Personal taste maybe, but I was suspicious that there was some undisclosed body work done. With the fender and driver's door not fitting together correctly it looks like this one had a rougher life than the Carfax would imply. Not sure what to make of the other DTC results. But, since I don't have any way to see or drive the car prior to purchase, I think I'm passing on this one. Any thoughts?

From what you're describing, I agree. Too many unknowns, and already enough baggage to move on.

Agree. There is no reason for a fender to be mis-aligned on this car, other than a mishap that is not being disclosed to you. Pass. There are enough cars for sale out there for you to be able to find the one you want without any history.
