Headlight Delamination Issue: Would Appreciate Update
My Cayman S build date was May 5, 2015 and I wonder if that fits in a production period where headlight delamination issue I saw in earlier post was problematic? Would appreciate what to look for or pictures if possible of delamination so I can see if I need replacement before new car warranty runs out.
By the way, my Porsche dealer replaced both door panels under new car warranty but said only covered under new car warranty--thank you Rennlist for alerting me to this potential problem.

Good deal on getting the panels replaced..
My lights were like the ones in the 3rd picture. I just found these online.. Lots of images if you do a google image search for 981 or 991 headlight delamination.

Good input including Google--sometimes forget how inclusive/current Google searches can be (even showed my Rennlist inquiry of yesterday). I am away from car now but will know what to look for when I get back. Thank you, Dennis

Seems like Porsche was cutting corner again with 981 with warped door panels, delaminating headlights and structurally unsound front strut towers...

It is an expensive bi-xenon light and new replacement is $1500. Used ones on the internet either show signs of delamination or have chips/cracks. Bad as it is, I am going to sand and refinish the lens. If I mess it up, there is still the 'buy a new one' option.
My 2014 Cayman's headlights were covered with Xpel about a month after I bought the car new in April 2014 and the lenses are still perfect, but that car has always been garaged.

Take it into Porsche. They will replace it. A buddy of mine had the same issue and played the "it's unsafe to drive at night" card. Porsche didn't even blink an eye before approving the warranty.
