Default 981 Agate grey...rim color

Hi, finally after a weekend running the Texas Hill Country twisties, I need to replace my tires, and at the same time, I want to powder coat my silver ugly rims.

The only question is flat black or semi-gloss, as well as they are offering flat and semi-gloss clear coat.....looking at pictures now for several days and can't make up my mind.
Exhaust tips are carbon flat, emblems on the rear are flat black, but obviously, that's in the rear and not visible at the same time.

Really happy about any input and suggestion.

Imo I think the bright silver look great on that color....this is one of my favorite looking Caymans that I've seen right here

Never been been a fan of the black wheels.... they look good in person from 10 feet away, but they look like any other black wheels from further away and they don't photograph well at all, but that's just my .02 cents

I prefer my satin platinum, but if I was to go to black I'd want them with a satin finish..not gloss or flat, but in-between. Not a fan of shiny wheels, and flat black makes them look, well, flat. Satin finish, or semi-gloss if you wish, gives them some 'definition'.

Agreed, silver does look best with Agate Grey.

Are you doing them in Agate, and just asking for gloss ideas? Or considering other colors? I think a bronze/dark gold could look really nice. Might give it a little bit more of a customized look if you're cool with that.

The only wheel I don't like on Agate is black. Silver or Platinum Satin look great on Agate.

Indeed, looks great in Platinum as well, I'm just no fan anymore of silver rims.

What about a soft, matte gold? Not a fan of the darker shades on a grey car, but I really like the gold Porsche used on the GT2RS wheels.

My agate 981 had silver wheels. I don’t like dark wheels on dark cars. To me, I feel like they are a high school student special.

Along with the others, I really like the silver wheels on the Agate gray body color. If you have a tan interior, and you are just looking for a change, I think the magnesium/light gold color posted above could be pretty special and different. I like 'different' so I'd be inclined to give that a shot...otherwise I'd stick with silver.

I’m biased towards the Bright Silver on the Agate Grey. I did have Satin Black OZ track wheels for my GT3 but for street & darker grey I prefer silver. Had Satin on Rhodium and Carrera Sports which are GT Silver on a GT Silver Car. I think current Satin would look similar on the Agate Grey with little to no contrast like the 997S had.
