Do what I did. Buy the base. Spend the saved 10K on this and still have money left over.

So today my wife and I bought this 2013 Boxster S with 17k on it. It is exceptionally clean, the paint is fabulous with no rock chips that I can really see. It has a clear bra so I guess that helped a lot. This is our first Porsche and we are amazed at how it drives. We cannot wait to take it out on some twisty roads.

Cool. Guess we now know how you came down on the base/S question! Looks sharp! What options are on it? Stick or PDK?

We went to look at the car Sunday afternoon and after driving it the decision was made, we loved it. As far as options it has the PDK, PASM, Leather, Bose surround, Bi-Xenon headlights, PDLS, navigation, power sport seats.

Sounds like you're as taken with it as I am with Rosie. Time for a long road trip to get better acquainted!

I am, I just cannot get over this thing. I have always heard how awesome Porsche's are but until you drive one you just don't know. Looking forward to some nice trips.

My BMW M235i now feels like a quiet luxury car to me. Someone on this site said I'd be selling it soon after getting Rosie and that's looking ever more likely.

Excellent choice, a very fine looking ride, and an S to boot.

Lovely car!

I did it the hard way. My first was a 981 base. Drove it 18k miles and learned a lot. The 2.7 is so nice to wind-up and the car was a basic, superbly balanced analog ride. Instant confidence and mechanically bulletproof. But yeah, every kid in a pony car wants to show off for a Porsche and the base just won't pull that hard.

Current car is a 981 S-SC, optioned very similar to yours. AMAZING machine, but with all the P-tricks it feels so different. I tell it where to go and the computer sort of figures everything out. With PASM, PTV and PDLS, it can feel kind of "floaty", has taken some time to build trust.

I sort of miss the base. It was fun keeping that 2.7 in a sweet howl, driving 9/10 was doable without getting crazy. The S is *insane* fast, engine screams, often just too much for the street. But pony cars don't bug me anymore. Sport+ and a little blip

Congratulations and welcome to the family!

Honestly if this car would have been a base we would have bought it anyway. The previous owner took great care of the car and my wife loved the color once she saw it in person. Being that it the S model is a bonus!
