Funny question - would lack of over revs ever be a concern?

22K on a 2016 means it was not babied, but driven. Likely a daily or near daily to get that mileage with probably a fair amount of highway.
Redline in these cars is usually illegal speeds on the street, and a good driver can drop the hammer enthusiastically and "short" shift at 7200 without flinching, netting a lot of 0's
We picked up our 2015 with 24K on it and it just had a low range 1 number, I'd have no concern on your car.

Yes, was traded in by a married couple in their 60s. The wife drove it quiet a bit from what I'm told. Believe it was likely just a daily driver and well cared for. Now I just have to wait patiently for delivery.

Have them check the mileage recorded by the DME and compare to instrument cluster. Most of the major 981 modules record mileage individually and you can compare them to see if a module has been replaced. A new DME may start with 0s in the overrev ranges.
My 14 Boxster, which was a Houston flood car, was auctioned with 'not actual miles' because the battery was dead, but all the non-damaged modules that were readable via PIWIS matched the instrument cluster reading of just over 10K miles after I got a new battery in the car. My local dealer agreed with me on the mileage as the service history did not show service after 10K miles. I had to replace the submerged RBCM and it now reads 10K fewer miles than the non-replaced modules.

I appreciate your point but having no over revs does not necessarily mean that the car was babied. There are ole timers like me who drove performance cars for many decades which did not have rev limiters. We learned to shift at or slightly below red line. I was heavily into drag racing, and there was always the risk of a blown engine if the driver was inattentive. So it's an ingrained habit, and I doubt that any of my cars had range 1 over revs, but I can assure that none of my performance cars have been babied. Moreover, I know that very few Porsche owners are into drag racing, it's more of a Vette thing, but you won't get your fastest 1/4 mile time when the rev limiter is activated.

This brings up a basic question - Does hitting the rev limiter trigger an over rev? AFAIK, rev limiters start cutting power to either ignition or fuel a 'couple' of revs short of the real red line.

They still show a GT Silver 981 Spyder. For a Ferrari dealer, they sure have a massive inventory of used cars. Or maybe they just list ALL used cars at ALL Penske dealers?

Well, it will appear as a zone 1, zone 2 over rev event on the report, but it isn't really an over rev. Its the condition that occcurs just below the rev limiter threshold.

Congrats! Silver/Red is definitely one of the best combos on the Spyder.
Enjoy in good health.

Congrats on the new Spyder. Gorgeous car.
So I recently sold my 997.2 GT3 with right at 45,000 miles on it. Can’t begin to tell you how many thousands of track miles - and it had zero over revs. None. Buyer even took it to a second dealer to verify. And trust me, I drove that car. Especially on the track. By the way never had a single repair either. Just the recalls and lots of extra maintenance. Personally I think these cars are made to be track driven. So enjoy your excellent new ride!
