Default Anyone have Fister exhaust on their 981?

I have it on my 996 and it sounds glorious. (Shameless plug here:
)
Does anyone have a sound clip of an FD on their Boxster/Cayman? Pretty sure this will be my first mod when I move up to a 981.

I had to check Fister's website as I did not know that they did mods on the 981 exhaust, and sure enough, there is a 981 option!! I wonder what they do to the exhaust? I am intrigued, maybe call up Fister and see if they can reference anybody with the mod and get a vid of it. I would be interested!

I did the Fister Mod on my 981 in December. Also did the Softronic upgrade at the same time. The two together make my somewhat "tame" 981 sound kind of mean. I love it. Fister was great to work with too. Great customer service.

Thank you. Do you mind if I ask how much of a pain was it to remove your stock muffler (did you take it to a shop to have done?). What does fister do exactly? Is it similar to the bypass on a 996?

I did it all myself . Very simple... But have to take the rear wheels off . There are several videos online about the process. Also, check the Akrapovik web site . Good instructions available and also torque settings. Having two sets of hands will help fyi, but I did mine alone.

Also the process is similar to the 991. They split it open, and rediect flow and I believe remove some baffling . Gets much throatier.

It you're at all handy, you can do it. Fister also painted it while they had it. I didn't opt for the ceramic coating as my exhaust only had 13000 miles on it. One more aesthetic item, i replaced the stock single oval tip with the X Pipe from Soul with the dual chrome tips. I really dont think it did anything for the sound, but it looks better for sure. That was easy too, but at least one side of the exhaust has to be off so do the tip when reinstalling after the Fister mod.

PM me if you have any more questions. Happy to assist.
