Catalytic Converter replaced at 40k miles
So I took my new (to me) 981 GTS to the dealer Monday for it's major 40k service. On the way there while I was crossing the San Mateo bridge a CEL pops up. So i mention it and yesterday got this photo:
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...c38d01b9eb.jpg The cause of the CEL was apparently a fried cat (not sure which side). It's all covered under warranty as emission control systems have a 7yr/70k warranty here. Just curious what might cause this as they said it's uncommon to replace these at such a low mileage. Furthermore wondering if the other cat is on borrowed time... |
Leaded gas, such as you might find at a track, would do it. |
