Default 987.2 LED upgrade- pics inside

Spent a few minutes just replacing the halogens in the interior with some LEDs. Makes things look a lot better! And yes, I did finish up vacuuming after

Full LED

Now with map light

That is quite a difference. Could be a nice update for my 14-year old ride. Dumb question... is this a simple bulb swap? If so, which bulbs / source?

Thanks in advance.

The map light is the most involved- on the back of the oval buttons (mine has the homelink) there's a lil pry notch. just remove those, and use a T20 or 30 bit to unscrew, the whole console comes off and then you can twist out the bulb without disconnecting any wires.

Nice, just did that myself a couple weeks ago. Did you also do the frunk/trunk? I got my bulbs from superbrightleds.com and the 44 mm ones were a bit too long for those housing, but still managed to fit.

Did the trunk- used one of the Sylvania retail ones because I knew it would work (same ones used for license plate)

Frunk I need to fiddle with the latch microswitch because the light is not illuminating.

So here's a 987.1 interior lighting question... I assume I can set the map light switch to illuminate the footwells with door open (one of the 3 positions?). But on my Boxster S, no go. Defective switch? Other? Am I high?

Everything else on the car, inside and out, has operated exactly as stated in the manual. But this little thing befuddles me. Yes, the door-mounted lights some on, but no footwell. Turn on full map and the footwells light up as well (center and right switch positions produce this same setting, full left is off for both map and footwells).

Any clarity from the group appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Lubricated the frunk switch and let there be light! Dave I have no idea on yours unless there's some option (like coming home or similar) enabled on yours.
