This is a common misconception; the alcantara will appear "matted down" after a few months of driving. It cleans easily and will look and feel like new. It should be cleaned just as any other part of the car (e.g., every 2-3 weeks or so), but frequently it is not. There are some specialty chemicals out there (sonax is the one I use), but I've read that soapy water works just as well.

Nice car. Geez, the 981s look so much better than the 718s.

Yes the day Porsche released photos of the 981 GTS I fell in love. I wanted one so bad. The 981s in general are gorgeous. The GTS is just that much better, in my opinion.

Congrats, Dreamer. I walked into the Elite dealership about three weeks ago to see the S, and the GTS. The S was silver, but looked dark in a dark room, and I wasn't impressed. I spent most of the time looking at your GTS, About a week or 10 days later, they still had both cars. We dickered on the phone, and they said, "Bring your checkbook in", and I drove the silver S home. I figured 10K dollars, and 20K miles, both in my favor, made the S the better car for me. Now we are both happy.
