Default LSD/PVT and Living in the NorthWest

I live in the Pacific Northwest and am looking at a 2012 Cayman S 6spd. It does not have either PVT or LSD. We get lots of rain and this will be a daily driver. Although we currently have a foot of snow, this is unusual. I currently have an M3 and like the feel of its mechanical LSD. On my normally soggy streets will I miss an LSD if I buy this car? .

The stock LSD has only a 22/27 acceleration/overrun lockup which is fairly mild so imho not a deal breaker. It is nice on the track but for street concerns not as big of a deal.

I miss having an LSD on my car. Fortunately it isn't too difficult or expensive to put in a Guard or OS Giken LSD. Definitely in the plans for the near future for me

For street, it's not needed. Good tires are key, right? In warmer weather, I love the Michelin PS4S tires, which are really impressive in the rain. Winter conditions (read below 40 degrees F), car wears proper winter tires.

I've driven my '05 Boxster S through snow and ice-storms here in the Midwest often. These drives are normally 1-2.5 hours long and under white-knuckle conditions of freezing rain, 3-5 inches of unplowed snow, and snow-covered roads with 40 mph side wind (this was Tuesday night). With PSM (Porsche Stability Management) and good tires, the car is fine. I assume your car has PSM, yes?

I have an LSD on the 968 race car, which has no PSM. Did not make any real difference on the street. Track, yes. Street, no.

I went from an E92 M3 with it to a Cayman without and don’t miss it. Besides LSD is a pretty rare option on these cars. Particularly .2’s. Like finding a unicorn stuck up the butt of another unicorn..

I didn't think LSD wasn't even available on the 987.1s. Very rare on the .2s but they're out there... For a street-only car I wouldn't worry at all about not having LSD.
