Default Code P0160 on 981S

Started up this afternoon and had a check engine light “Engine Fault ok to drive”. Checked code and came up with P0160. I have catless fabspeed headers with the little fake cat spacer deal. Code looks to be a bad O2 sensor on left bank for secondary post cat sensor or maybe this is just a check engine light from running catless. No engine tune to over ride codes, I just have never thrown one with the fake cat spacers. Any insight?

I'm at a loss to know how a catless car could NOT trigger a CEL based upon the post-cat O2 reading.

These are O2 sensor spacers with small cat material inside. Been running them for roughly 4K miles with no check engine light. Just trying to figure out if my O2 sensor went bad or if these little guys finally crapped out and threw the Cel.

Got a bad tank of gas once and got a similar code also with race headers. Cleared the codes, no issues since!

I believe this code is related to the electrical circuit of the O2 sensor (aka open circuit) as opposed to a code that would be thrown for an actual exhaust gas issue (aka catalyst efficiency below threshold)

You probably just need an O2 sensor

If it was the latter then the minicats would be the prime suspect.

Would get it fixed but also get a Cobb flash / protune. Flashed my BGTS at the same time had fabspeed catless headers installed and nary a CEL. Dollar for dollar, a flash is the cheapest pcar HP you can buy.

Do you have a catless exhaust (or even some non-factory tunes do this)? If so, then it makes sense that the post-cat O2 would trip like this...

Default Same.

Yes I have catless headers and a BGB Cobb tune with mini cats for the downstream sensors just like the OP.

I figured out that my mini cats kept coming loose and would cause an air gap. Once I replaced the crush washer and got them tight again the code went away after a day or two.

Thanks for your reply. I went in and copper sprayed the exhaust gasket, retorqured to spec. Took out mini car and O2 sensor and added copper antiseize and reassembled and torqued to spec. Now let's see.
