Will 986 tow hook fit 987.2 (2009)
Need to get a second tow hook for the rear. Part number changed in 2005 but they look identical. Anyone know if the older 986 tow hook will fit a 2009 987.2?

Tow hooks generally are the same and fit anything from 964 to 997. It was only with the 991/981 that the threads changed and the older tow hooks will not physically screw in.
With the aftermarket hooks, sometimes they offer ones for specific models and front/rear variations, but that's just variations in length to get them as close to the bumper as possible.
The OEM tow hook you're looking at should work fine.

They want $10 more for the 987.2 tow hook than the older 986. Pushed my luck on the track for the last two years and figured it was time to get the second tow hook. I wonder if its a length difference?
