I've had this happen with an insurance company before, I let them total the car but insisted on arguing their lowball offer on the value. I simply pointed out what I had purchased the car for several months prior and then provided them with comparable cars same color options and the pricing. Since it was a rare car there was only 2, and both were about what I had paid. problem solved as that proved my point and I got the bigger check from them

Very nice!

My 981 had substantially more damage and was a borderline total loss at first (they ended up totaling it). I was surprised to see yours was considered a total.

Insurance companies have gotten burned many times fixing Porsches. They don't want to get into the job and get stuck paying supplement after supplement or totaling a car that has work in process.

I have heard from a few people in the industry that they feel that body shops sometimes "sand bag" estimates on Porsches and keep them low to get the work in the shop. Then once the car is opened and on the frame machine the quote goes up 20K.

I believe that. On my repair the total at the end was a good $10k more than initial estimate.

Good eye, where does it end up, in the Wheel well behind the Wheel liner? I wonder where it could be re-routed to be more accessible?

Great to see it whole again. Now you can go out a really enjoy it. How much did it end up costing for the fix? These cars are so much fun to drive.

$2800 for the bumper! I decided to leave the headlights as is, the chips don't bother me too much.
