I think I never properly presented my 987 spyder and tiny upgrades (or I am becoming too old and I cannot find the thread anymore). I will split the upgrades and changes into different post, since I think it’s much easier and “clear”.
I bought my Spyder trading in my 964C4 convertible, here in one of the few pics when they are together.

But almost immediately the white car with the black side stripe with the Porsche sign remembered me something… A light Porsche (B8) where weight optimization was a must, the 909 Bergspyder. So I thought… Why not!
Ah, if somebody asks, yes, it’s the perfect car for grocery shopping as well (or water shopping in this case). 120 liters of water and still lot of space!
Time of a second set of wheels! Since I wanted to keep the original J and ET without using spacers and similar things, and since I wanted not to spend too much, I went for the OZ Leggera HLT (btw lighter than the Spyder wheels). Anyhow after 2018 winter, the OZ will remain as winter set, and the original as summer one.
Next idea was the following. Sometimes I am just too lazy to put back on the bikini top but I do not want to leave the car open. So I challenged my tailor to do something different than a suit. This man definitely knows his job Starting from the concept of the stormcover I have for my Morgan I produced this. Wow. Still amazed anytime I put it on.
I have always been superhappy with the full leather interiors, but there were a few plastic bits that were looking completely “out of place”. First of all the side sills, in plastic, and partially ruined by the previous owner. And second the trim around the PDK lever, in supercheap plastic. Here is what I did.
Of course there are a lot of other plastic bits that should be leather trimmed, but I am not sure if I want to invest time and money into those.
I have the HLTs on my 911 for the winter. Mind sharing where you got your Porsche center caps and how they fit?
Easier than you think
I got them together with the wheels but the previous owner of the wheels told me that he bought them from the Porsche dealer and they are stock and original (and in fact, when wheels are clean -when?- the center cap "grey" is darker).
They fit with no changes at all. If you have another set of original center caps you can quickly try.

I'm a fan of the leather too and to me it's the one thing that Porsche really skimped on considering the cost of these cars. I went full leather on mine which helps a ton but as you noted there are still some areas that could benefit from leather.

The one that really drives me crazy (but it requires too much job) is on the door card, where the strap is. All that area is in crap plastic.
And not only you need to remove the entire door interior to take that out, but you need to drill mounting pins as well, since it's not foreseen that you take that apart and put it back on.

is that the whole plastic area or just the piece that the strap comes off? I thought just the Allen bolt held it in place... maybe I was wrong? I was thinking of changing my straps and belts to black as I have Sand Biege interior and I think it would look nicer.
The window switch cover is pure crap, it's typical modern car design. It looks great when new but if you're not extremely careful it will look like crap in a couple of years. Mine is perfect but I have been extra careful after seeing several other 987/997's that had these areas worn away.
The full leather option covers the top areas and the center door area but not this trim piece
