2011 Spyder reluctantly listed for sale
I have listed my 2011 Spyder for sale - very reluctantly.
This is my second 987 Spyder and I hope I don't regret selling it.....

Well, I will be keeping my Carrera T for now. I have a deposit on the new Spyder whenever it is released but not sure if I will do that or not.
I just don't have enough time to really enjoy 2 Porsches. I just hope I don't regret selling the 987 Spyder. It is a special car for sure and nothing matches the pure driving enjoyment.
However, the Carrera T is just a better car overall and I will get more use out of it. It may not be the pure driving experience of the Spyder.
But for as often as I am able to just go for a long drive just for the sake of driving, the Spyder will not get as much use. The Carrera T is just more likely to get driven on various occasions in addition to just going for a spirited drive.
I really like the Carrera T. It is not as "pure" as what most of the guys think they are who are buying them and arguing here on Rennlist over why they are the best. They just haven't driven a 987 Spyder..... hahaha
But the T is a fantastic car in many ways.
I have not been able to hang on to any car long term......despite always thinking I will...

GLWS. I hear you though. I like my 981 Spyder, and the 987 Spyder is great too. I always go back and forth on the 911 but ultimately would still end up driving a Jeep or Rover day to day and the 911 would just sit there unused. Given that, it makes sense for me to just have the Spyder vs the 911 as I enjoy it more for the occasional drive. 997.2 GT3 RS is tempting me lately though.

I think I will, I say I will, I try to.
My wife hears it. She thinks I wont, and says I wont. She knows as hard as I try, as much as I may want to, I wont.

that must include many 2016 as there were just over 700 987 Spyder built for the US in 2011 and 2012 with the bulk 2011 as only 142 were 2012 models

The spyders that "suffer" the most during the sale process are those like the one I sold without leather and a/c. Some of you may remember my spyder from the pics I've posted. The car was immaculately maintained with 30,000 miles on the odometer. I had offers in the high 40's until someone 5 miles away from me realized the value of a well cared for example and paid much more than my prior offers. Truly no stories spyders in great condition equipped from the factory with 6 speed, sport buckets and spyder wheels will/have become a rarity.

Getting ready to put this on ebay or maybe BAT.
I am willing to take reasonable offers and will also more seriously entertain the idea of selling the car close to stock and selling the buckets and wheels and other misc items separately.
I drove it the other day and I am afraid to drive it again because I don't really want to sell it. But it makes no sense to have it sitting most of the time.

Think of it as a work of art for the time being unless you need the cash
