Default Picked up a new track toy this weekend

I'm officially a member of the Cayman club. Picked up a 987.1 Cayman S this weekend. I'm liking everything about it so far. Coming from a 991 Carrera S it's taking a little time to adjust to the lack of power, but the car is still tons of fun. Here is the list of mods it has so far:

Rebuilt motor by Vision Motorsports with Track package
Carrillo Rods
Deep Oil Sump (2Qt)
Vision Crank / Bearing Oiling Modification
Eibach Coil lowering springs
Bilstien B8 Struts
Mirage Bump Steer Kit
Rear Control Arms
Tarrett F/R Drop Link kit
Adjustable Sway bars / Camber Plates
New street pads + new set of Hawk track pads
GT3 Brake Ducts
New Clutch\Flywheel
New Headliner
Sport Chrono ECU flash
1 set of 19" wheels, and 2 sets of 18" wheels
1 Set Michelin Pilot Super Sports
1 Set of Bridgestone RE-71R
1 Set of Nitto NT-01

I plan to add Carbon Bucket Seats, 5 point harnesses, bolt-in roll cage, IPD Plenum, GT3 TB, Headers\exhaust.

There is one item on my list of things to address this week, and that is the stiff shifter. It gets a little better as the car warms up, but it still feel gummy. I'm hoping that a simple re-alignment of the linkage will fix it, but if not then I may have to investigate the front motor mount. I heard if they go bad it can put extra pressure on the linkage.

Anyways, I look forward to hanging out and learning with you guys!

I have virtually the same car, also with a 2 quart deep sump and track mine as well.. Honestly the best money you can spend next would be on an OEM 3rd center radiator setup. They're cheap (about $300) and you'll need it in the summer since you're in San Diego. I was tracking in 92+ degree temps @ COTA in September and my coolant started creeping up... short shifting at 5,000 RPM brought it back down quickly. As a plus, you'll run lower oil temps as well since the coolant cools the oil.

It sounds like you can improve the shifter feel, but I would never expect it to be as 'direct' and 'connected' as your 911... the 911 setup has the transmission between you and engine, whereas the midengine cars have to have long shift cable that wrap around the engine to get to the transmission on the other side.

Good luck and enjoy it on the track where it belongs!

Thanks for the feedback! I have a 3rd radiator and a power steering pump cooler on the top of my list, just forgot to mention them. Any other suggestions are always appreciated.
