Default 2005 Porsche Boxster S noisey engine

Driven for 4 hours without fault, left stood for 15 minutes and then started up with this noise:

any idea what it could be? At around 40 seconds the car is revved slightly and the engine sounds normal to me. Any ideas would be much appreciated. The car is in Derby and will need to be fixed. Anyone local want to take on the work? Many thanks, Anthony

Not an expert, but that sounded like metal against metal. I wouldn’t be starting that car — would tow it to a porsche mechanic.

You should give more info about your location and situation so someone here could help you. Good luck!

Hmm. Agree the car should be towed somewhere and looked at. I don’t think it is catastrophic, but what do I know.

What's your oil level at?
Definitely don't drive the car. If you're not comfortable tearing into it yourself, get it towed to a Porsche mechanic.

It's always hard to tell from a video, but it does sound like a metal on metal sound. The fact that it goes away is promising. Perhaps the oil pump is failing at initial startup?
Being a 2005, maybe the IMS bearing?
