It should be noted that the door skin is made of a rubber/vinyl like material. The steering wheel trim portions are made of a plastic and have a paint coating on them to make them look more upscale. The steering rim will be leather but that’s the extent of it unless the car had optional leather which it doesn’t appear to from the pictures.

So treat it the same way you would treat a delicate rubber/vinyl trim.

So, swapped my steering wheel today and couldn't be more happy. I will now use the old one to experiment and will report back if I can fix the damages on the different parts of the steering wheel.

Nice work, that's a huge improvement.

Just a mention--most detailing finishes, no matter how hard to remove, do seem to wear off in a few months.

Thank you @Full Boost and @GregWormald . I would recommend that to anyone who has one of these button steering wheel and bigger cosmetics (or other) issues with the steering wheel. Most of the porsche drivers dont like these button steering wheel and swap to the sport paddle version and sell their old ones. There are plenty of these steering wheels on ebay/rennlist/pelican and you can get a nearly new one for 100-300 dollars. I personally like the button version over the paddle version. The swap is super easy and if you dont want to do it yourself an indy mechanic should do it for 50-100 dollars. Even though the overall condition of my car is great, the steering wheel was really beat up. The picture I sent was just one corner of it. The new steering wheel makes really a huge difference and the feel of new leather is priceless!!

Now, --driving gloves. Gloves protect the wheel and give a consistent grip regardless of your hand condition or the weather. (I got fingerless.)
