Default Best cupholder for 987 cayman?

Just curious what some of you use as a cupholder in your 987. I usually travel to work with a large Yeti style mug with an added handle. it fit perfectly in the console cupholder in my GTI but there's really no place to put it in the Cayman that I can find. I was really excited about finding this one:

https://www.ultimatecupholders.com/ but I emailed him and it just doesn't work for the Cayman unfortunately. Any other suggestions?

I have ultimates in my 981 and had them in my 986 when I had one.
No issues. Best cupholders out there.

That's strange. I fitted one to my 987.1 Cayman without any problem and used it until I gave up sodas.

The one I had, I installed on the left/driver side of the center console. Sorry, but I've no picture(s) to share.

Any pictures of how it fit? I assume you kept it on the passenger side? I have the Bose system and it doesnt look like there is room.

It just wedges between the console and the passenger seat. No abrasion to the seat bolster, and you can see the felt pad I added so there is no abrasion on the side of the console. You can also see I rounded of the corners so there are no sharp edges.

Its just a generic between-the-seat cup holder. I got it off the shelf from the local Advance Auto store, but there are dozens of similar items on Ebay and Amazon.

I'm at 180k year-round commuting in my '07 2.7 Cayman and I put my mug on the passenger floor held in by the passenger seat adjust lever. It works remarkably well and I commute through mountain twisties. I recently lost a 16 oz beer in that location but that's what I get for attempting to drink beer and drive. Never had a coffee fail from that position.

I will definitely try this. I have the interior apart and the bose system out but it does seem like the mug will wedge in nicely there if I move the seat forward some. Good idea!

I bought his product for my Cayman and I have the Bose as well. The Bose subwoofer does interfere on the passenger side so I use the driver's side:

Not sure how large your coffee cup is but this works for me (including NOT interfering with the right leg).

Why not use the in-dash holders? They also function as a g force indicator!

True - they do! Especially when you try to clean the splattered coffee stains out of the honeycomb over the speakers!
Seriously - I did use them - but even with caps on the coffee, I always seemed to get splashes on the interior. Then I installed a Roady Syrius/XM and that disallowed any usage of the cupholders at all.

I always use a travel mug, so no spills. But I love checking the g force gauge... need to calibrate that!

Espo, I second the ultimatecupholder.com solutions. I installed them bilaterally; my water and black coffee habit has been sustained.
