Default Dash vent removal - how ??????

The dash vents in my Boxster 987 are all messed up. 3 out of 4 of them have no link between the individual vanes. the pieces linking them together are disconnected and long gone. I have to replace them, and there's lots of them on eBay cheap. The problem is getting the old ones out. I've searched a lot, and I have learned that this is a very common problem, however I see no answer on how to get the round 987 vents out. I see lots of the same question being asked, but only a couple of answers with illustration, but they are all for a different generation or type Porsche. Does anyone have an answer on how to do this for the round vents in the dash of a 987?

Thanks.

I had the same problem. There is a special tool that is needed to remove them. I ended up taking mine to the local body shop that specializes in Porsches and had them switch them out. It took them all of 10 minutes to do it. Good luck.

I'm in same boat here. What's the magic solution? Do tell... And, how to prevent same failure going forward?
