Default catalyst incomplete since reset

Hi all,

5days ago I received an engine checklight on my cayman s 987.1, went to local mechanic to read it out. He said it was related to the catalyst of cilinder bank 1(forgot to ask for the code ), he resetted the trouble codes.
I went for drive on highway for half hour, no engine checklight.
Did 4x drives more in the meantime.

It just bought an OBD reader, used OBD auto doctor, it doesn't give any trouble codes but under Readiness monitors - Catalyst: incomplete since last reset.
Catalyst: NA this drive cycle

Can any help me out, do i need to perform drive cycle? I did however drive for 4 trips since the reset.

The drive cycle looks for certain conditions to be met. Some of those conditions depend upon how much gas you have in your tank, how fast you’re going, what rpm you’re holding, etc. I would keep driving it. But because you had a code before for the catalyst, you may be having catalyst issues.

Have seen it take up to a week of normal varied driving to reset. Try not to reset the codes in the meantime, then you have to start all over
What I recall last time I did it was 25 and 45 mph for about 15 min. each and rpm between 2000-3000. Eventually you'll get that, but if you're revving or not in those ranges, it takes longer.
Here's one ref. in the forum

Fuel tank 1/4 - 3/4 full, Start engine, idle cold for approx. 2 min, 10 secs.

Accelerate to 20-30 MPH, Maintain steady speed for approx 3 min, 15 secs.

Accelerate to 40-60 MPH, Maintain steady speed for approx 15 mins.

Decelerate and come to a stop. Idle in gear for approx 5 mins.

Following the start engine phase, the sequence of test conditions may interchange.

routine will be discontinued whenever:

Engine speed exceeds 3000 RPM
Large fluctuations in throttle angle
Road speed exceeds 60 MPH

Here's a ref. from another source

A. Start your Porsche and let it idle for approximately 2 1/2 minutes. This will allow the ECU to diagnose oxygen sensor aging; meaning the computer will be monitoring the oxygen sensor warm-up period and reaction to rising exhaust temperatures. During this period the ECU is also testing the Secondary Air Injection system.
B. Begin driving. Accelerate to 20-30 MPH and maintain your speed for 3 1/2 minutes. You must not make any stops and starts during this step. The ECU will be testing catalytic converter efficiency.
C. Next, accelerate to 40-60 MPH. Once again maintain steady speed, this time for approximately 15 minutes. The EVAP system is now being tested along with adaptation range (2) and the oxygen sensor (switching).
D. Decelerate and come to a complete stop. If equipped with a manual transmission, idle in neutral for 3 minutes. If equipped with an automatic Tiptronic transmission, idle in drive (D) for 3 minutes. Adaptation range (2) is now being tested.
E. Repeat steps B through D. Drive cycle complete.(you may need to do this a couple times)

This is also a good reminder for others who are coming up for a smog. If you want to do a OBDII/Durametric reset,
be sure to give your CAT monitors time to reset the cycle or you could fail the smog with nothing actually wrong.
Also, every flash I've seen that turns off the check engine light for catless headers will also fail this cycle,
so when you reflash to put the cats back on, you'll have to do this cycle to get the monitors back up again.
For those that want to check your monitors/diag. from your android phone, I use the BAFX and Torque free app.

Thanks for your advice, yesterday did a highway drive at 90kph (55mph) 15min. Read code afterwards and catalyst is complete now, the other ones were already complete. 2years ago I had the same, around same period (same temperature), but car was still under warranty. Are faults related to catalytic converter maybe related to temperature, since SMOG in cities occur more during winter.

You're welcome, glad it worked out. For those checking it on the phone, here's how it should look (this is a factory no A/C R so not sure if that checks on A/C cars)
