Default Boxster Spyder lettering (stickers)

Hi,
I have the side sills stickers and the external side stickers that are somehow getting ruined.
There is my trustful printmaker who would be happy to make them for me but he would need the vector files.
I was wondering if anybody has those available.
Many thanks!

Here is what you could do. I have taken logos from photos on the internet and also from photos i have taken. Usually i would just have to take out the background and adjust the brightness and contrast to get a clean black and white. Then save it in a tiff or eps format. I used 14 year old sign making software that converted it to vector in about 5 seconds. There was a fair amount of clean up to the vector file after that, maybe an hour or so. I think you can convert this to vector in adobe’s creative suite now but i am not sure. The fonts that Porsche uses are proprietary and i highly doubt that you will find them anywhere. From what i have seen Porsche protects it’s intellectual property pretty well but i do see companies that pop up selling the stickers and stripes. You might be better off just ordering the stickers from Porsche directly through a dealer like Suncoast.

Yeah, sure suncoast (but the "EU" version, means a EU dealer with good prices) would be an option but still I am not ready to pay:
98755954200041 (door sills stickers) - 125 eur (140 usd)
98755170300041 (side stickers) - 370 eur (420 usd)

I will try to see if the photo/size/convert/clean is doable.
Thanks for the idea!

These guys make the stickers and I’m betting they charge far less than the dealer. https://kistudios.com/

Illustrator's Live Trace tool would get it done in a hurry, but the original art is just three lines and the Porsche word. Any designer worth their salt could make the vector file in 15 min max.

Getting a font that will work is as easy as a Google search: http://fontsgeek.com/fonts/Porsche-Regular

All of this said, you'll need to make sure your dimensions are correct when you deliver files to the printer.

Yes, capital Porsche letters are easy to find. I agree. It’s the “spyder” letters that are not that easy to be found as pure font.

Sorry, didn't realize you were looking for the 'Spyder' script. Either way, I doubt it's a font at all, it was probably artwork. Here's something very close, you could spend all day massaging it to be perfect.

There's the Spyder script alone, if you need the whole thing I could probably scan a badge I have here and clean it up and combine them into one .ai and clean up the corners a bit.

*edited, didn't realize you meant inside the door sill

I am not sure it's really a font, even if for sure there shall be something (probably as already said, well protected)
Look here:

When you get all this sorted you may want to consider putting a clear vinyl layer over the sticker on the door sills. Mine got ruined just from getting in and out of the car.

Spent some time working on this earlier in the week. Taking pictures of the “spyder” vinyl that’s left on my car I’ve replicated them pretty good I think. I’ll try to attach a picture here. If anyone has exact measurements of letter height, and length for the Boxster part and distance between the two I can probably fine tune it a little more.

As discussed I took the pic you were needing

Just after Xmas I can take exact measurements

Perfect - thanks!! I’ll use this to double check spacing and the other “Boxster” lettering I recreated. There are a lot of them out there, and some of the letters or curves look too fat, or too rigid etc. Making them from the original is best.

Did you ever come up with a file for the "Spyder" font?

It’s not specifically a file that could be saved and then uploaded somewhere else to use. I used a program to trace the edges of the photo I took, and then based on that trace, could cut the vinyl from it. There is a file in the vinyl program (which is called Gemini), but unless you have that I think it’s pretty
much useless then.
