Default Creaking noise from steering column area

When the car is up to operating temperature I get this constant creaking and squeaking noise from under the steering column area / foot well . I’m almost thinking it is The metal tubes for the heating/cooling coming into the dash area? Anyone have any insight on this? Can even happen while the car is sitting still at a light.

There have been a few 981's that have experienced squeaking sounds from the gas tank when it is close to full. The sound seems to come from the drivers side in my car. It goes away when the tank is not so full.

I’ve heard of that issue but I don’t think it’s what I’m hearing. This will even do it while sitting at a stoplight or moving, empty or full. really sounds like the two pipes that enter the cabin through rubber fittings moving from a temperature change.

Where's the heater core on these cars?

On past cars, I've experienced exactly what you're describing when the rubber bushings around the heater core lines started to get warmed up.

I am pretty sure that is the gas tank padding issue you are hearing. Mine just started doing this too. I think when you pull up to a light the gas is sloshing around in the tank causing the noise.

If the car is hot, been parked and start it I can hear the noise before I move it.

Later on when I do my next oil change I am going to pull off the skid plate and try and get a look in there to see if I can wedge some foam in.
