Default 987.1 safe alternate jacking point for jack-stands

I have seen a few videos on YouTube showing how to alternately jack up a 986 using a floor jack. The underside of the 986 car is totally exposed. My 987.1 has the bottom totally covered.

Is there a safe alternate place to jack up the car to get jack-stands in the stock jacking position using a floor jack without removing all of the coverings?

Can I jack under either of these two points?

Personally i wouldn’t feel safe using non approved jacking points.

If your goal is to get your car safely up on jack stands I’d look into JackPoint Jack stands.

https://shop.jackpointjackstands.com/

Here’s a YouTube video ( video shows a Corvette ) but you’ll get the concept.

This is the first car that I have actually considered getting airjax for. Especially since I do all my own work and will probably be under this car every-other weekend during competition season.

Liftbars and regular jack stands work like magic.

Never even though of a lift bar! I assume just get a steel bar, weld brackets that fit into the jack points... Then the jack and jack stands can go anywhere along that bar. I know what I'll be making this weekend.

Here's a gif from Liftbars.com

Looks like it'll be easy to build my own though.

I get the idea but. The car is so low to begin with. That picture was a higher car .

I would have to see one made for a Porsche-

I've driven a lot of slammed cars over the years, some with only 1.5" ground clearance.

The simple solution is to drive up on a board of wood before jacking the car.
