Default 987.2 spyder window issue

Got in the car today and the driver's window will not go all the way up, it stays at the spot it would be at when the top is up and it needs to duck under the top when the door is opening/closing. Then when I tried to lock the doors it would beep but there was no locking. Does anyone know how the door window knows when the top is up?
thanks

It sounds like it thinks the door has not fully closed. Have you checked to make sure nothing is obstructing it?

yes, there doesn't seem to be anything in obstructing it in any way. Door closes as normal as far as I can determine. Passenger door window works as it should. The fact that the doors will not lock makes it sound like the latch isn't quite right.

I believe the window properly closing, and the door locking, can only happen if the car recognizes the door as fully closed. So something is going wrong with that process - either it isn't fully closed (which it sounds like it is), or there is an issue with the sensor.

When you try and lock the doors - are there any beeps? One beep means it is not being recognized as closed properly - from what I understand this would be a code you could see via Durametric.

yes, one beep of the horn. You are right the door isn't being recognized as closed. Why that is, I don't know

There is some kind of switch/sensor in the door that is tied to the handle - so upon closing fully the window slides up all of the way, and upon slight opening of the handles it slides down. I believe that same switch activates recognition that the door is closed for locking purposes. Take a look here:

Try the window reset procedure for when the battery is changed or disconnected.
May not help, but worth a try.

It is indeed a battery/ computer issue. The window now closes fully but will not recess to open.

Well, it's a little interesting, although the window had been fouled somehow as if the battery had been run down, it was actually the sensors in the latch assembly that were the culprits. A few, well more than a few C bills and the window is working right again.
