Sport Chrono is what gives you the Sport + button. In the 981, i believe it also adds the dynamic transmission mounts, more aggressive throttle mapping, the lateral g-force meter, rev-matching, and some other things (some of it varies depending on if you have PDK or manual transmission). Here’s a photo of the OEM description from a 981 brochure book. To my knowledge you CANNOT add it after the fact, like PSE (though some of the “tunes” can likely to the throttle mapping portion). -Dom
Wait, so you're saying I cannot have it installed it aftermarket? I've been seeing some threads about people installing them. I have PDK.
PSE? Yes. Sport Chrono? No. Never heard of anyone upgrading it (how could you - in a 981, there’s a different dash for the cutout of the “Chrono” clock?). If someone has done it, would love to hear about it (remember that, in the 986/987 it didn’t have rev matching, dynamic mounts, or the Chrono gauge, to my knowledge, so maybe THOSE can be upgraded?). Don’t take my word for it, see what dealer says and please report back...

My 2006 Cayman S has Sport Chrono and does have the stopwatch on the dash. However, it does not have nearly as much functionality as the later cars (i.e., launce control). I think that the only thing mine does is measure zero to sixty, lap times, etc but to start the clock ticking, you have to hit the stalk on the column - it's not automatic.
