I will watch for another opportunity to get together, and if you think of it let me know next time!

Joel, I have the original spreadsheet on my Google Drive - try this link and see if it works for you - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw2...ew?usp=sharing.

Hopefully one day a PNW Spyder meet happens, that would be fun! There's at least 5-6 Spyders that we know of up here in Vancouver.

I have driven a couple of different Targas. They look cool and nostalgic. Yes, they offer slightly more structural rigidity than a Cab. However, I'm a full-on open-top guy! All in or nothing!

Mark, I'm sure you have debated about keeping the 993 before letting it go. To me, it's the most iconic silhouette of a car, ever! Not sure how long have you been driving the Spyder; but, I can see how the 993 felt more visceral. Lack of power steering, old school handling, air-cooled music you mentioned and the period-ambiance, all working in unison could make it a truly gratifying experience. You should've kept it!!

I sold my '86 930 (talk about a visceral driving experience) and picked up a '12 Spyder and a new '18 991.2 — needless to say, I don't miss that old G Series one bit!

In my professional role, I drive everything with wheels (in every price segment). I reviewed the Boxster Spyder when it came out many years ago... recently re-read the review (thanks to my son's suggestion)... found one... and slapped down my money. Hands down, the 987.2 Boxster Spyder is one of the most enjoyable vehicles on the planet.

This is AWESOME! Thanks so much and yes - there's at least 6 here in Vancouver. I did see another white on black with PCCBs blasting around Yale Town last week. No idea who it was.

And there's this new one here in Seattle with the OP. I sniff a PNW or "West Coast Spyder Nation" meet in 2019...

Thanks again,

JP

Zeus, great idea! I clicked join, and I am pending now. We had a good cross border relationship with 993 owners, and we did several drives together that I can remember. There are a lot of enthusiasts in Vancouver. I know of at least one other Spyder owner in the Seattle area. I will reach out to him and let him know about the facebook page.

Default My 987 Spyder Introduction Thread

Thanks for all the compliments, I'm loving the car. Attached are a few more interior pictures. Carerra Red is actually more muted than this in the flesh, and Basalt Black Metallic leans a little more to black than in the pictures. That LA sun makes it look a little like Prince was the prior owner! The Pacific Northwest light is a little kinder.

Man this color combo is beautiful. Enjoy her! I’m between a 996/7 GT3 and the 987.2 spyder, it seems like the spyder is a real winner. I’m sure it’s more of an “and” not an “or,” but it seems value wise and for every day backroads the first gen spyder is the real winner.

Hopefully I can fit in one at 6’4 and 250+ lbs, I guess buckets are out for me at least ;( maybe it’s an excuse to get back in shape lol 😆
