Default 2011 Cayman oil level sender/sensor bad? U0423 code.

Just seeing if anyone here has replaced this guy. Mine has been wonky ever since we had a pretty thick rainstorm. Would get the "Failure Oil Level Indicator". Dried out after a few days and it started working again. 2-3 months later it's doing the same thing.

I appears on the Cayman this sender sits on the bottom of the oil "pan" (I know this is dry sump with no pan per se).

Anyone ever replaced one? Does it just spew oil out or can these we swapped without dropping the oil?

Thanks guys! Oh...and if anyone knows of which part is a better unit, please chime in. I see a Hella and an ERA unit on AutohausAz, i'd prefer to put the most robust one in possible.

Looks like it might be able to be swapped with minimal oil loss. Guess I'll find out.

Well...have 10 minutes....a shop vac and some wheel ramps?

You too can fix this issue with a $60 sensor
